Recently while I was in prayer, I had this vision. I saw a group of people going in the same direction. There were 2 women that were directing and encouraging people to go in that direction. One of the women approached me and pointed in the direction others were headed but I refused to follow the crowd. In my heart I knew that’s not where the Lord wanted me to go in that season. The woman kept coming to me but I resisted. The other woman also tried but I didn’t give her my attention so she proceeded to direct others. As I watched the crowd moving I knew there were some that God had not told to go where the two women were directing people but because the crowd was headed that way, the chose to follow.
Before I turned and went the opposite way I heard the 2 women talking about me…refusing to go with others. I chose to follow Gods voice.
Choose to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Get with Jesus, learn and know His voice. While God can use others to speak in your life, seek confirmation from the Holy Spirit. Just because everyone is headed in the same direction doesn’t mean you should follow; it may not be where God wants you or needs you. Herd mentality is dangerous – again get with Jesus and know His voice.
God timing is perfect. The Holy Spirit will never steer you wrong.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6)
