God And Puzzles

1 Kings 19:12 And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper.

I started playing puzzles to unwind or relax after long tiring work days and then the Lord started using the puzzle pieces to speak to me and give me solutions. Sometimes He would ask me to do a puzzle with Him and encourage to pick 100 or 144 piece puzzle. I like starting with the border but sometimes I see middle pieces that connect and work my way through connecting bits and pieces until I finish

I got the app on my phone because I love puzzles, wanted something different to challenge my mind and it relaxes me. The phone puzzles are small with pieces that look similar. There are frustrating moments especially the 144 or 225 piece puzzles because of tiny pieces not fitting where I think they should. But, I don’t quit. I stay with it, work through the frustrations until I’m done in one sitting.

Some are “surprise” puzzles because you don’t know what it’s supposed to be. The pieces give you a clue but you’ve got to put them together to find out. One day after completing a surprise puzzle the Lord whispered to me, “it takes one piece to fit and everything falls into place.” Honestly, I was surprised and immediately started another puzzle. I did what I could then got stuck and felt frustrated but He showed me where to put one piece and interestingly enough every other piece just fell into place.

Psalm 37:23-24: “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”

This has now become “our thing” and I love when He silently guides me and gives me nudges until the puzzle is complete. His point in all this is trusting His voice through the frustrations of building my company. He gave me the vision and the instructions and I’m stewarding it. I don’t have all the steps or answers but I can’t get stuck because in my mind things should flow a certain way. I use what I have and the rest start making sense and the small unorganized (to me they seem unorganized) pieces finally make up beautiful products.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord

God has a system that may not make sense to us. He gives us clues and steps then breathes upon our efforts until we are done with the assignment. Trusting His directions requires trusting His vision. You must lay down yourself if you are to build with God otherwise you might find yourself getting ahead of God and making a mess of things. Something I’ve learnt is God will never send me where He will not lead me. Trust, obedience, surrender and stewardship are key to build with Him.

ALSO, don’t discount how He speaks or what He uses to speak to you.

If there’s something God has asked you to do, take the steps and use what you have but make sure you are not leaning on your own understanding. Seek Him, wait for Him, do what you can and trust Him for what you can’t. Don’t quit because His vision takes His genius to complete.
