As believers, when we seek to walk with God in the supernatural, our calling or assignments, we must make a resolution to follow Him. Our surrendered yes must be according to His will and not what tickles our comfort zone. I love the story of Ruth when she chose to cling to Naomi and follow her to her homeland.
Ruth 1:16 Don’t ask me to leave and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God.
Ruth made a choice to leave everything she knew and follow her mother in law Naomi. She left her comfort zone, familiarity and stability for an unknown life with a people she didn’t know, to a land that was unfamiliar to her and to serve a God she didn’t know. Ruth chose to:
1- Surrender what was familiar to her.
2- Sacrifice her comfort zone.
3- Yield her desires and
4- Commit her life to the unknown of Naomi’s people and God.
Do you think she had counted the cost?
Genesis 12:1 The Lord said to Abram, “leave your native country, your relatives and your fathers household and go to the land I will show you.
Another beautiful example of sacrifice, surrender and obedience. Abram followed the Lord even though he didn’t have the entire picture. He left with just a word of instruction and just like Ruth, he committed himself, his wife and his household to the unknown because God said ‘”go”
I will leave you with this….
Are you willing to surrender?
Are you willing to leave your comfort zones and what is familiar to you?
Have you positioned yourselves to walk out Mark 8:34 – Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
I encourage you to pray into this so you can honor the Lord with your surrendered yes.
Love & Blessings – Eunice.
