PSALM 143:10a TEACH ME TO DO YOUR WILL..
This morning, I started making a blanket only to undo it because the pattern I’d wanted to use didn’t feel right anymore. You see, I’d never made this pattern before but had watched a few videos and practiced on a different yarn. I was looking forward to having a baby blanket done in this new pattern but no matter how many times I tried, it didn’t flow. I started talking to the Lord about it and asked the Holy Spirit to direct my hands like He’s done many times before. So many of the patterns I’ve made were Holy Spirit taught and because He gives me the patterns and colors in visions I was excited to embark on a new adventure with Him.
As I spoke with the Lord about the frustration of not flowing and asking for help, He reminded me that it is Him who directs our steps. He let me know He was changing the plan for this particular blanket not because the original pattern wasn’t perfect, but because it wasn’t what He desired. I didn’t ask Him why, I just picked up my crotchet needle and started making the pattern He had in my mind. The pattern is called a triple crotchet. I’ve made it before, many times actually and have always loved how easily if flows. However, it wasn’t the ease God was interested in talking about but the name: TRIPLE. In this case He was alluding to Triple as the Godhead: Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Each stitch was infused by His presence, saturated by His love and blessed by Him just like the little girl that will be covered by it. I started praying that this child will have a very special and unique relationship with the Trinity.
I don’t know what shifts or changes you have felt the Lord is bringing into your life; any capacity of your life but I want to encourage you to pray, partner with the Lord, yield and let Him do what He needs to do to bring them to pass. Ask the Lord for His plan and step out even when you don’t have all the details. His word will never change but our seasons change and if we hold on to the old flow, old ways, and old systems we will miss Him in the new. AGAIN, the vision I had originally is perfect but not for this little baby girls blanket. God wanted something specific for her and had I held on to it, I’d have missed the opportunity of partnering with Him and the aroma of His presence during the process.
My prayer for all of us is that we anchor our sails in Christ and flow with Him no matter where or how He leads us.
Love & Blessings, – Eunice!
